Endermologie (lipomassage by LPG to treat Cellulite)

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is a common term used to describe superficial pockets of trapped fat, which cause uneven dimpling or “orange peel” skin” or “cottage cheese” appearance of the skin.. It's every woman's curse. Fat is definitely a fact of life from the time we reach puberty until the day we die. It appears in 90% of post-adolescent women and is rarely seen in men.

Common but not exclusive areas where cellulite is found, are the thighs, buttocks, and the abdomen. Contrary to popular belief, cellulite is not related to obesity, since it occurs in overweight, normal, and thin women.

Why are women prone to develop cellulite?

Women’s skin is built differently than men’s to help them to store fat during pregnancy and breast feeding and also to allow the skin to expand during these times. When estrogen levels fluctuate in the body, the skin will retain fluid, connective tissue in the skin hardens, blood, and lymphatic circulation is decreased, and fat cell storage is favored, causing the development of cellulite.

Treatments for cellulite remain largely unsuccessful because they only target the appearance of cellulite. It was finally understood that the dimpling on the surface of the skin was but a symptom of the underlying cause and to banish the bumps would require a deeply acting treatment.

What Is Endermologie?
Endermologie®, a subdermal approach to treating cellulite, was pioneered by LPG Systems in France over a decade ago. Endermologie® was the first to be FDA approved for reducing the appearance of cellulite.

LPG has developed an innovative treatment to reduce the appearance of cellulite and revitalize the skin. Treatments last 35 minutes and are given once or twice a week. It works wonders on your body while letting you relax and unwind. Treatment intensity can be easily adjusted for every region treated.

Is ENDERMOLOGIE® new?
ENDERMOLOGIE® has been a specific procedure for the treatment of cellulite and body contouring since 1986. Over 95,000 treatments are now performed every day in over 95 countries worldwide.

How does the machine work?
The Keymodule’s small hand-held, motorised treatment head with specially designed rollers performs the Endermologie treatment. By gently lifting and rolling the skin the Cellu M6 Keymodule stimulates the venous and lymphatic systems thereby eliminating toxins. Fiboblasts are stimulated to the increase collagen and elastin production generating a healthier rejuventated skin tone. The treatment also smoothes the surface of the skin by softening the connective tissue, that anchors the skin, causing the dimples of cellulite.

How long does a session last? Do you just work on my problem areas?
A session lasts for 35 minutes. The main focus of the treatment is directed to the problem areas, but the entire body must be treated in order to stimulate general circulation and elimination of broken up toxic matters.

How many sessions do I need to start seeing results?
Results vary for every person, however an average person starts to notice the changes after about 6-8 sessions.

How many treatments should I consider to begin with?
A series of 15 sessions would be a good start to achieve results. The first 6 treatments may be done within a 2 week time period, than the rest of the treatments should be received twice a week until desired look is achieved. After the desired look is achieved, a once a month maintenance is sufficient for most individuals.

How long should I continue my treatments?
We suggest that you approach cellulite treatment as a lifestyle change. Just as we go to have our hair cut on an ongoing basis, we need our cellulite treated regularly as well. If we don’t address the problem in such manner, cellulite will come back.

Does the procedure hurt?
Rest assured that you are in the best possible hands. With your highly trained therapist, and the machine’s capability of changing intensity, you won’t need to be in pain. It is a non-invasive, relaxing treatment that involves no medical procedures or use of any chemical substances, creams or gels.

What do I wear during treatments?
We will provide you with a body stocking, Endermowear, to wear during all of your sessions. The stocking is worn for modesty and hygiene.

Can everyone receive the treatment?
No. It is not for pregnant women, or people taking blood thinners, people with circulatory or vascular disease, active cancer, and also with infectious progressive diseases, and AIDS. Should you have any other concerns, we recommend that you consult your physician.

Does the treatment have any side effects?
The only negative side effect possible is minor bruising for individuals with very sensitive skin. However there are numerous positive side effects, such as relieving muscle soreness, fading of stretch marks and scar tissue, feeling rejuvenated, and relaxed.

Is it a weight loss program?
No, in order to lose weight you need to get on an exercise and diet program. However you can achieve incredible results by combining this treatment with weight loss programs. As a result of the treatment, you’ll notice your clothes fitting better, and also you’ll lose some inches in circumferential body measurements.

Do I need to do anything to get good results?
Yes. Drink sufficient amount of water. You will receive information during your free initial consultation on the amount of water your body needs.

Does this treatment work on men also?
Definitely. Even though men are not prone to develop cellulite, they might have loose skin, or some fat trapped under the skin, that can be improved by the treatments. Clinical experience has shown excellent results for problem areas such as "love handles" and loose pectoral tissue. It is an excellent skin toner, therefore it is the best choice to treat the skin after weight loss that resulted in loose skin.

What is the difference between ENDERMOLOGIE® and Liposuction?
ENDERMOLOGIE® treatments are non-invasive and improve the health of connective tissue. Liposuction is an invasive surgical procedure aimed at removing deep fat tissue from an area. Doctors often recommend ENDERMOLOGIE® treatments in conjunction with liposuction to minimise the trauma cause by the scaring and inflammation of the procedure and to improve the health of the tissue.

Are the results permanent?
If the factors causing the initial condition are not changed, the tissue will return to the state it was in before ENDERMOLOGIE®. Regular exercise, a balanced diet and 1-2 ENDERMOLOGIE® maintenance treatments per month are recommended to help keep the results achieved.
